RPS Review: The first thing I will say about Dead End is that it is a very organized roleplay in terms of getting you started. The sim has a website used to register, review the rules, check out news, and more. When registering I noticed that, for a “humans only” sim there is a decent selection of character types to choose from, and each one leaves some room for diversity within them. I really like the way this sim is built, the way the roads and such are laid out makes the sim feel much larger than it is. Not long after TPing into the sim I ran into two roleplayers.. both of which IM’d me almost immediately and invited me to join their current scene. What a refreshing occurrence!! So kudos to those players! This sim goes for realism, and some of the atmospheres feel like you’re really there. I made my way into one of the local bars, having heard some chatter from outside. Upon entry I see folks sitting at bar tables, folks lined up across the bar on stools and a very busy bartender… all chattering amongst themselves. Down the street a bit I ran across a landlord and a tenant arguing about the terrible conditions of the homes… complete with death threats and druglord accusations. My biggest complaint here is staff attentiveness. I was able to get one response, which was about this blog, and the convo went silent midway through. When registering, you’re invited to the RP group and given a “visitor” tag. Then, after your registration is processed they update you with a tag of the char role you applied for. The website indicates that it “may take up to 48 hours”. At the time of this writing it was day 4, and I still don’t have my character tag and can’t get any staff to answer me so I can find out why. If you’re not into magic or races from various lore.. but enjoy the dirtiness of a crooked city.. then Dead End is most certainly a place you can call home.
